Adrogynous tomboy chic is big news this season with women's tailoring taking inspiration from the men. I love this look and was really excited to see Kelly Rowland rocking it on last Saturday's X Factor.
 |
Kelly is wearing a Stella McCartney trouser suit, Anne Fontaine shirt, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery |
One of the reasons why I love this look so much is because it reminds me of Karl Lagerfeld's iconic signature style:

Chanel S/S 2009 |
Inspired by Karl and Kelly I decided to play around with the collars/styling of a couple of my white shirts - afterall contasting collars are a big trend this season. They're actually men's shirts so they're perfect for this project. It's also a great way for me to update my workwear wardrobe.
Here's what the shirt(s) looked like before:
And, here's what they look like after:
 |
I attached stud earrings to the collar |
 |
I added a grosgrain bow |
 |
With a brooch |
 |
With a crucifix pendant |
 |
I added scalloped edge corded lace, with crystal stud earrings and a faux pearl bracelet |
 |
I scalloped the edges using embroidery scissors and I love the rawness of the edge it gives it a vintage character |
 |
The inside of the collar could have been neater but nobody's gonna see that when I'm wearing it |
love this.....running off to get mine done..
ReplyDeleteLol, glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the last lace collar where can I get it from?
ReplyDeleteIt's the same shirt, I just covered the collar with lace and added stud earrings to the corners. I also covered the top button with a little black ribbon and voila.
ReplyDeletethese are very nice! can't wait to try out at least one or two ideas :)
