"I be lady o"

If you call a woman
African woman no go 'gree
She go say
She go say "I be lady o"
Today's post is a bit unusual because it has a soundtrack. London Fashion week was only a few weeks ago and you know how fashion show's have soundtracks which the models walk down the runway to, well Fela Kuti's "Lady" is the soundtrack for today's ensemble, I think the look compliments the song.

These DIY ostrich feather, beaded lovlies, are the same bronze sandals featured in my Feet First post:
I took this photo myself, outside with the flash on, so sorry if it's a bit bright x
This particular DIY was inspired by this gorgeous pair of beaded sandals from Burberry's Spring 2012 collection, worn here by the lovely Solange Knowles.
I decided to team them with an pencil skirt made from the same fabric used in my Les Soeurs post:

And I also have a matching head-tie:

If your'e not familiar with the soundtrack for this look (Fela Kuti's Lady) I've embedded a you tube video of the song for your listening pleasure, the intro is really long so fast-forward to around 6mins for the jist of the song.

    1. I brought them from a haberdashery but most good fabric shops should sell ostrich feather trim.
