Wedding Belle

Here is a dress from our label made for a bride in Nigeria. It was an express order and took two weeks to complete, my sister Ayo is a sewing warrior and deserves all the credit for this dress - a beautiful white duchess satin piece with fit and flare silhouette, a gathered organza overlay and invisible zipper closure.

Laying out the pattern pieces

The boned foundation bodice which will hold most of the weight of the dress

The lining was made from a beautiful polyester light polyester blend

This is the tulle petticoat, sewn onto a cotton base so  as not to irritate the skin 

The bodice of the organza overlay was ruched 

It proved to be a labour intensive technique
